Take a deep breath, Tacoma, because Spring is in the air! April is packed with can’t-miss events that celebrate community, creativity, and springtime energy. Kick things off at the Tacoma Farmers Market Opening Day on Broadway, then throw it back at the I Want It That Way: 90s/2000s Dance Party at McMenamins. Families can enjoy the Lincoln District Egg Hunt, while the beloved Grand Floral Daffodil Parade brings color and tradition across Pierce County. Shop intentionally at the Wellness and Whimsy Experience, or gather for good food and family fun at the Puyallup Tribe Food Truck Village and Farmer’s Market. Sip for a cause at Narrow's Brewing with Pints for a Purpose benefiting the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, then gear up for the season at the Ride Together Pierce Annual Bike Swap. Then glove-up for Parks Appreciation Day, celebrate local pride at Tacoma: It’s Better Than You Think!, and refresh your home responsibly with the ongoing Beyond the Bin donation events. There's always something to do in Tacoma!



April 2nd

Tacoma Farmer’s Market Opening Day

It’s baaaaaaack! The Tacoma Farmers Market returns to Downtown Tacoma’s Broadway, bringing with it an irresistible mix of hot food, fresh produce, vibrant bouquets, live music, and handmade goods. Spend your Thursday snacking on tasty steamed buns, browsing local vendors, picking up farm-fresh veggies for dinner, and discovering unique gifts, maybe even treating yourself along the way. With around 60 vendors each week, it’s the perfect place to soak up the best of Tacoma’s local flavor.

 


April 3rd

This event is specifically directed at our millennial friends! Hop back in time with Seattle’s only tribute boyband, All4doras. Featuring the songs you loved from *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Nelly, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Rihanna, 50 Cent and more! DJ Dance Dance will also be spinning tunes that have been stuck in your head since 1998. So grab your puka shells, lace up those Etnies, and get ready to dance your hearts out in McMenamin’s Spanish Ballroom. Get your ticket’s here!

 


April 4th

Celebrate early and enjoy a Saturday egg hunt in Tacoma’s Historic Lincoln District! Starting at 11am, children 10 and under can hunt for eggs along South 38th and Yakima near the famous Vien Dong. The hunt goes until they’re all found! Keep and eye out for the Lincoln District Bunny as he will be handing out additional eggs and posing for photos. Little hunters can snag some eggs at the designated toddler stops, Fab Lab and Lorinda’s Hair. It’s sure to a hoppin’ good time!

 


April 4th

Spring is in the air and not just in Tacoma! Pierce County will bloom with life at the Daffodil Festival’s beloved Grand Floral Parade. This joyful, 93-year, tradition brings communities together across Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, and Orting all in one day. Expect vibrant daffodil-covered floats, lively marching bands, and local groups celebrating the season alongside the festival’s Royal Court. It’s a uniquely Pacific Northwest experience, equal parts small-town charm and regional pride, marking the arrival of spring with color, community, and a whole lot of cheer.

April 12th

April 18th

Enjoy Family Day at the Puyallup Tribe Food Truck Village! This family-friendly event features food trucks, vendors, and fun activities for all-ages. Native owned, the food truck village is proud to support local vendors and offer a safe environment to connect with the community. While you're munching on local grub, check out the games and face painting booth with the kiddos. This event will continue to run every weekend, starting on Fridays!

 


April 18th

April is Earth Month and Parks Tacoma is ready to celebrate! Grab your work gloves and head down to one of Park’s Tacoma featured locations to help pick up trash, trim back plants, or clean up a beloved Ruston beach. This is a great opportunity to get to know your Tacoma parks community and give back to the Earth that has been so kind to us!

April 25th

The 15th Annual Pierce County Bike Swap, hosted by Ride Together Pierce, rolls into Tacoma Community College for a free, family-friendly celebration of all things cycling. This lively event invites riders of all ages to buy, sell, and test ride bikes, connect with local vendors, and learn new skills in a welcoming, hands-on environment. From free safety checks and repair services to helmet fittings, skills courses, and route advice from seasoned cyclists, it’s a one-stop hub for both beginners and seasoned riders. With food trucks, community resources, and plenty of “new-to-you” bikes to discover, it’s the perfect way to gear up for the season and connect with Tacoma’s biking community.

 


April 25th

Pints for a Purpose beer release party on April 25th, 4-9 pm at Narrows Brewing. $1/pint supports trails. Forest background, trail logos.

As always, we love a good reason to drink for a cause! Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will be taking over Narrows Brewing’s waterfront location to host their Pints for a Purpose celebration. This special evening brings the community together to debut a brand-new, limited-edition collaboration beer, complete with a behind-the-scenes brewery tour and the first chance to taste the fresh release. Even better, every pint poured gives back, helping fund local trail building and maintenance through Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, making it the perfect way to sip, socialize, and support the trails you love.

 


April 30th

There's no hiding it, we LOVE our Grity City and no nay-sayers can get us down! Head down to Edison Square to learn some fun history, trivia, and more reasons to love Tacoma. Hosted by Pretty Gritty Tours' very knowledgeable and charming Chris Staudinger, you'll leave with not only a better understanding of our South Sound haven but a better love and appreciation.

It’s time for Spring cleaning and Tacoma Environmental Services has partnered with local organizations to help you out! Every Friday from April through September, drop off your used clothing, small appliances, furniture, and more to the Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center, and they'll be loaded up and taken away to be repurposed and passed along to some neighbors in need. Each event runs from 9am - 4pm or until the truck is full. Check out the calendar and see below for each organizations donations guidelines:


First Fridays: Goodwill

Second Fridays: Habitat for Humanity

Third Fridays: Northwest Center

Fourth Fridays: NW Furniture Bank

Fifth Fridays: Second Use


While each Friday event is hosted at the Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center, you'll find a few Saturday events at locals schools!
