Before real estate, John built his career by working across construction, small business ownership, and customer service. He owned and operated a local nursery and landscape company, worked as a framer and independent handyman, and even interned in engineering at Boeing. Alongside that, he spent fifteen years in the restaurant industry, holding nearly every role from dishwasher to bar manager. Those experiences shaped how he works today. He understands how homes are built, how businesses run, and how to serve people well.
With over ten years of real estate experience, John believes his role is twofold. He is an educator and advocate for his clients, and a focused, tough negotiator on the other side of the table. He takes the responsibility of representing both his clients wishes and their property seriously, with absolute respect and no ego. Every decision is guided by what best serves the client, not by pressure or shortcuts.
John holds the Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation and has extensive experience working with buyers and sellers at every stage of life. In addition to residential real estate, he also works in land acquisition, bringing a strong understanding of valuation, development considerations, and long term potential. He is known for listening closely, paying attention to details, and approaching each transaction with creativity and care. Quality of service is paramount, and clear communication is never optional.
John also believes strongly in building and supporting the communities he works in. He is actively involved in local efforts such as starting the Hoppy Holiday Food Drive, which brought in a staggering 34,000 pounds of food in 2025. For John, real estate is not just about transactions, but about contributing to the health and stability of the neighborhoods he serves.
A longtime Tacoma resident living just off Sixth Avenue, John knows the neighborhoods and community well. Outside of work, he enjoys running with the Tacoma Runners Club, golfing, tending a large vegetable garden he proudly shares with neighbors, and working on projects in his wood and metal shop. He is also an unapologetically loud Seahawks fan.
At his core, John is committed to earning trust through knowledge, preparation, and steady advocacy, before, during, and long after the transaction is complete.

Catie Douville

Catie is a Tacoma native, born in the South/East side then transplanted to North/Central a number of years ago. Like many people, Catie started out in the service industry. You could find her serving, hosting or bussing at a couple Tacoma restaurants, all while trying to balance school, staying active and being exceptionally social. Her passion for people led to five years of working in non-profit at World Vision. While at World Vision she used her communication skills and creative thinking to assist donors and team members in order to best serve families in need around the globe. After marrying her long-time love, John Douville, she noticed his real estate business beginning to grow and thought, ‘’How can I help here, closer to home?” This ultimately turned into a complete career shift where Catie now runs the marketing and back-end details of Douville Home Group. She is professionally trained stager and provides this service to every listing that Douville Home Group manages. You’ll probably see her running the sidewalks of 6th Ave, wandering the local farmers markets, or enjoying a craft brew at one of the many tasty Tacoma locations. If not there, she’s out and about with John helping get people into their dream home.
