July – August

Running every Wednesday throughout July and August, this beloved community tradition transforms the historic Old Town Park into an intimate outdoor music venue featuring fantastic local talent like Champagne Sunday and Kim Archer. July 4th

Tacoma's 4th of July Summer Blast returns as the city's largest free Independence Day celebration, stretching across the beautiful Ruston Way Waterfront from Cummings Park to Dune Peninsula. Running from noon to 10:30 PM, the family-friendly extravaganza features over 150 craft and food vendors, two stages of live music, interactive Family Zones with bounce houses and crafts, and multiple 21+ beer gardens. The unforgettable day culminates around 10:00 PM with a spectacular, 20-minute Emerald Queen Casino fireworks display launched from a barge offshore, giving spectators prime viewing all along the waterfront.

 


July 10th

July 11th

Wright Park will be swimming with love and visibility for the annual Tacoma Pride Festival! Looking to get up close and personal with local marine life? Join beach walk naturalists from the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium for an exciting hands-on experience at Owen Beach! This free public event is perfect for anyone who has ever wanted to hold a tiny ocean crab or learn more about the incredible creatures living right along the Tacoma shoreline.



July 18th & 19th

Transforming the residential streets of Central and North Tacoma into an expansive, walkable music celebration, Tacoma Porchfest is back for an unforgettable weekend of community spirit. Local residents volunteer their front porches to serve as stages for hundreds of local musicians spanning every genre imaginable, creating an intimate yet large-scale neighborhood festival. Completely free and all-ages, it’s a wonderful excuse to wander the neighborhood, discover incredible regional talent, sample local food trucks, and connect with your fellow Tacomans.



July 23rd – 25th

Wrap up the month with an incredible weekend celebration of Samoan heritage, community, and tradition at the 16th Annual Samoa Cultural Day! This lively, family-friendly event is actually a three-day celebration that kicks off on Thursday, July 23rd, at 6:30 PM with a cultural sharing banquet at the Asia Pacific Cultural Center, followed by an uplifting youth gospel night of music and spiritual celebration at the center on Friday. The festivities culminate on Saturday, July 25th, at Mount Tahoma High School with the grand finale main event, where you can immerse yourself in traditional Samoan performances, cultural demonstrations, and plenty of tasty food packed with authentic island flavors. 



July 25th

Step back in time and explore the roots of local sound at Tacoma Heritage Days, music edition, hosted by the Job Carr Cabin Museum in Old Town Park. This free, all-ages event invites families to try out a variety of hands-on musical activities and instrument demonstrations hosted in partnership with Ted Brown Music. It is a fantastic opportunity to dive into Tacoma's rich historical narrative while enjoying crafts, outdoor games, an instrument petting zoo, and interactive family fun in the sun.
