April is here and we've found a number of activities to check out in Tacoma!
Be one of the first to try the new fusion spot on 6th Ave, celebrate Spring at the beloved Daffodil Parade, get some plumbing pointers at the Moore Library, celebrate Record Store Day with a new LP, upgrade your wheels at the annual bike swap, make sustainability in the South Sound fun, hear tales of Tacoma love and heart break, catch the Easter Bunny in the Historic Lincoln District, and of course shop local makers, bakers, and artist around Tacoma.
6th Ave is getting a whole lotta new flavor this April! Give a big welcome to Grann Restaurant, a Southern BBQ, Creole, Indian fusion spot with family at the center. Start your meal with some savory Indian apps then dive into the BBQ grilled fish, Tandoori ribs, and a side of Masala mac n cheese. As a firm believer that curry can make anything better, Catie has her eye on the Tacoma Masala Lamb Burger with mint chutney aioli and Tamarind BBQ. These guys have found a way to celebrate "southern spice and everything nice" by blending family cooking with some innovative twists. While they've had a few family and friends soft openings, they will be hosting an official casual grand opening party on April 4th with small pass around plates. They'll then take a quick break before opening for full service, but you can get your reservations now for their Tuesday - Saturday service.
Spring is here, and that means it’s time for one of the South Sound's favorite traditions: the Grand Floral Daffodil Parade! Come celebrate the beautiful season of blooms by enjoying the lovely daffodil-themed floats, colorful costumes, and fantastic artwork, all traveling through Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, and Orting. In Tacoma, the parade kicks off at 10:15 a.m., starting at South 12th Street and winding its way to South 21st Street along Pacific Avenue. This nearly century old event is one you won’t want to miss!
