May is here, the sun is shining, and there is so much to do in Tacoma!

Peruse local print art and stick around for a steam roller press, snag some lovely flora at the Lincoln Plant Sale, tour Tacoma's oldest homes, check out a Women Inspired market, get your dance on to some Calypso beats, hit up the Old Town Music and Craft Festival, go back in time at Toytopia, find a great book and meet local authors, or celebrate bike month and maybe win some cool prizes along the way!

We'll see you around, Tacoma

May 2nd and 3rd
Cassette design with "Tacoma Wayzgoose," May 2nd-3rd, 10am-5pm, Tacoma Main Library. Vintage vibe, black and green theme.

Tacoma Wayzgoose is a fun-filled community celebration of letterpress, printmaking, and book arts! Come on out and meet local printers, check out their amazing creations, and even make some keepsakes of your own. You can try your hand at making paper and learn all about bookbinding too. One of the coolest highlights of the weekend is the steamroller printing, where talented local artists carve 2 x 3-foot sheets of linoleum and create stunning prints on giant sheets of paper. Some artists will be there Friday and Saturday and some will only be there on Saturday, so be sure to check out the vendor list. On Saturday there will also be a swap meet, so if you have any font type, table top cabinets, or letter press equipment, bring it on down. It is an event you won’t want to miss!

Historic home with columns, Tacoma Historical Society logo, tour details for May 3-4. Website link and sponsor logos visible on beige background.

If you’ve ever driven through some of Tacoma’s historic neighborhoods, there’s a chance a few of the homes have caught your eye. For 25 years, the Historic Homes Tour has been inviting people from the community and visitors to check out some amazing historic houses and buildings in Tacoma. This hands-on experience with Tacoma’s historic homes gives you a fresh look at the city, as you discover the stories behind the architecture and the personal histories of the people who lived there. Over two days, you can explore seven historic spots in north Tacoma. It's a great chance to step inside private homes and see unique architectural details, design features, and get a glimpse into how folks lived in the past. Every ticket comes with a cool souvenir booklet that includes a map. Each house can only be visited once, and you’ll get a stamp in your booklet after touring each building. Don’t forget, you need to show your booklet to get in!
