February 10th – Until they are gone!

Join fellow Tacoman’s as they search high and low for beautiful treasures created by the lovely Ms. Monkey. Every Lunar New Year, gorgeous glass orbs and medallions with an emblem of the new year's Chinese Zodiac animal are hidden (quite well) all over the city. These incredible glass creations are a several months long labor of love by Ms. Monkey and her team of glass makers. This year is EXTRA special in the Douville home as it is Catie’s year, the year of the dragon! While they are initially hidden in the wee hours of the Lunar New Year, they can be found for weeks and sometimes months to come. Keep an eye out, wherever you are!

February 10th

Job Carr Cabin Museum has put together a lovely Lunar New Year craft. We know these rainy days can be a little tough, so why not take a quick trip to tour the indoor museum and grab a craft to enjoy at home!

The run features a nice, flat, out-and-back route along Ruston Way, starting and ending at beautiful Dune Peninsula park. Children ages six and up are welcome to participate as well as your canine friends!

Come dine, dance, and delight your way through the Lincoln District as they host their annual Lunar New Year Celebration! Learn how they constructed this home in 1890 and hosted an array of famous explorers and authors, like Mark Twain. This hour long tour takes you from the basement to the attic and goes over the rich history of how the Blackwell Mansion served Tacoma, including it's remodel and use as the YWCA in the 1970's.

Every Saturday!

Join a park guide in Point Defiance every Saturday and hear all about the history, plant life, and importance of this beautiful corner of the Pacific Northwest. This is a leisurely paced three mile walk, starting at the Rhododendron Garden. Come prepared with water, snacks, weather appropriate attire, and whatever questions you may have! The tour is free and no pre-registration is required.

February 22nd

This brand new event is a fun twist on your average trivia night! Join hosts Casey Catherwood and David Kerwin for what they call an "...arousing evening of challenges, game show style segments, & bizarre social experiments...like trivia night, but a whole lot better." One lucky team will walk away with some fabulous prizes and the first 100 guests will walk away with... an onion(?). Needless to say, we are intrigued. Check out these local dudes at Edison Square in South Tacoma, as they embark on this new adventure called, Show Hole!

February 24th

Come enjoy the Black Night Market's third annual Black History Month Market! There will be food trucks, live performances, and a number of local BIPOC vendors and artists selling their treasures. Keep and eye on both the Black Night Market Facebook and Instagram pages as more information surrounding the vendors and performers will be provided as the event approaches.
